I like the tonal effect the different surfaces give. You're getting a lot of depth with just line and simple tone. Plus there is something really endearing about the old rickety character of the building, especially the long window (very Tim Burtonesq). Perhaps you could create another facade which has refined anthropomorphic qualities, eye windows (winking...?sleepy curtains...), door mouth etc...? Have you seen Monster House?

I was sketching out some ideas for a project I'm working on and this was one of them. I'm not using this sketch, but I like the stone chimney.
I haven't seen Monster House.
